Staff
Our Clinical Director at G.R.A.C.E. Center is Doug Pryor. Doug moved "up
north" in April 2008 from downriver Detroit, where he was a substance abuse
therapist at Oakdale Recovery Center for many years. Doug is a bright, happy guy
who focuses on the spiritual side of humanity (his own and others). He was a
teacher before he became an addictions counselor, and also volunteered as a
Youth Group Leader, Parish Retreat Facilitator, CYO Camp Committee Member, and
Guest Lecturer on topics pertaining to addiction. Oh yeah, he's a biker. Doug
and his wife, Trish (who continues to work for Ford Motor Co.) have a home on
some local waterway. Doug's a great addition to our staff and to the community.
Carol
Moggo-is our Administrative Director, finance officer, and all-around organizational guru. She has a bachelor’s degree in Office Administration from C.M.U.
Carol is the person with the eye for detail and almost perfect memory for faces, names, and events. After college she set to work and hasn’t stopped yet. Her writing skills help us in our grant requests and her tact and diplomacy has saved many a day. Carol is one of the first people you’ll meet or talk to at the G.R.A.C.E. Center, and is our most senior employee, having been with us since 1995.
Jody Robson-is
the Center’s staff counselor. She has a Master’s in Counseling, a B.A. Degree in
Family Life Education, has become a Certified Addictions Counselor, and has
recently met qualifications as a fully licensed counselor for the State of
Michigan.
Another
of our staff counselors is Patsy Jean Clancy. Patsy’s credentials include a B.A.
and a CAC-M.
She is also a certified spiritual counselor with training from the Jesuits at
Manresa. She worked for several years in the Pontiac area in half-way houses and
in out-patient care, then moved to Recovery Consultants Inc. in Waterford, MI,
where she did out-patient counseling for some seven years before moving north.
She has four grown children, three dogs, and loves to read, garden, cook, and
bake; and snowshoe our northern Michigan trails. Patsy has 21 years of sobriety
behind her and in recovery is a member and strong supporter of AA and Alanon.
Patsy’s husband is an electrical contractor and they both love Northern
Michigan.
Our intrepid receptionist is
Valerie Wise, who has been on our staff part-time since September of 2008 and started full time in February of 2010. Val is (most of the time) that cheerful voice you hear when you call the G.R.A.C.E. Center, and she’s the smiling face you see at the reception desk -- again, most of the time. In the brief time she has been with us she has become the strong right arm of our Administrative Director, who already wonders how she ever got along without her.
Val moved north to Grayling in 2001, have worked as a unit clerk at McLaren Hospital for 25 years. She also completed the Massage Therapy Program at LCC and worked at a Hair Salon for several years. She has a husband, 2 grown children, 4 grandsons, and a poodle. Val likes to bowl, crochet, paint, cook, and garden. She attends regular meetings of AA and helps people whenever possible.
